Prince Andrew is facing renewed scrutiny as a forthcoming biography threatens to further damage his already fragile public image. The Duke of York has been warned that if he fails to respond to the explosive claims detailed in the book, his reputation could deteriorate even more.
According to The Express, the new biography — Entitled: The Rise and Fall of the House of York — by royal author Andrew Lownie, includes a series of revelations that paint the embattled royal in an increasingly negative light. The book is set for official release on August 14, but early excerpts published by the Daily Mail have already ignited controversy.
Journalist Alexander Larman, writing in The Spectator, cautioned that the Duke’s silence could be viewed as damaging. “His already tarnished reputation is likely to sink even further into the gutter, especially if Prince Andrew does not dignify any of the stories in the book with a refutation of any kind,” Larman wrote.
Among the claims detailed in Lownie’s biography is an alleged rift between Prince Andrew and his nephew, Prince Harry, reportedly triggered by Andrew’s comments about Meghan Markle. The Duke is said to have described the former Suits actress as “too old” and referred to her as an “opportunist,” warning Harry that marrying her would be the “biggest mistake of his life.”

The book also alleges a confrontation in 2013 between Andrew and Harry at a royal family event. The situation reportedly escalated when Harry learned that Andrew had made disparaging remarks behind his back. According to the account, the tension boiled over into a physical altercation that left Andrew with a bloody nose.
These revelations add to the growing list of controversies surrounding Prince Andrew, who has already been dubbed “disgraced” in the media following his association with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein and his subsequent withdrawal from public royal duties.
The biography, which traces the turbulent trajectory of the House of York, is expected to reignite public debate over Andrew’s standing within the royal family and the long-term consequences of his past actions.
While Buckingham Palace has not commented on the book or its claims, royal watchers say the silence from Andrew’s camp could be interpreted as tacit acceptance—or worse, indifference—at a time when public perception is more crucial than ever. With the book’s release looming, pressure is mounting for Prince Andrew to address the allegations or risk further reputational freefall.
