Mom of 3 Accused of Stabbing Her Boyfriend to Death After Prior Domestic Violence Arrest

A judge on Monday denied bond for Jennifer Heathcoe, a Mobile woman charged with the fatal stabbing of her boyfriend last week. Heathcoe appeared remotely for her bond hearing, where she briefly attempted to proclaim her innocence, but the judge quickly cut her off, advising her to wait until she has legal representation before making any statements.

Heathcoe is scheduled to appear in court for an arraignment on Wednesday. The incident occurred at the Charleston Apartment Homes, an apartment complex off Sollie Road in Mobile. According to police, they responded to the scene around 8:05 p.m. and found a male victim deceased inside an apartment. Investigators determined that the victim was cut with a knife during an altercation with a known individual, later identified as Heathcoe, told Fox 10 reported.

Further investigation into Heathcoe’s background revealed that she also has a warrant for her arrest out of Daphne. Daphne police confirmed that Heathcoe was previously arrested in December on charges of domestic violence/harassment involving the same victim, Rawlins, during an incident at a bar. She now has an additional warrant for failing to appear in court on that charge.

Mobile Interim Police Chief Randy Jackson highlighted the pervasive nature of domestic violence, stating, “Domestic violence comes in every form. Any type of relationship that is established can be a domestic violence situation. Unfortunately, this one led to the death of someone.”

Heathcoe will have another bond hearing next week as the legal process continues. In the meantime, Mobile police have stated that the investigation remains active, with no additional information released at this time.

The fatal stabbing at the Charleston Apartments complex on Sollie Road has drawn significant attention, and local news outlets, including FOX10 News, are closely monitoring developments in the case. As the investigation progresses, more details are expected to emerge regarding the circumstances surrounding the tragic incident.
