Trump Drops Hints About Potential Running Mate During Iowa Town Hall But Keeps Identity Secret

During his final town hall before the upcoming Iowa caucuses, Donald Trump revealed that he has already chosen a running mate in the event of securing the GOP’s presidential nomination. However, the former president declined to disclose the identity of his chosen candidate.

When pressed by Fox News anchors Martha MacCallum and Bret Baier, Trump confidently stated, “I know who it’s going to be,” but resisted providing any specific details. Despite prodding, he remained tight-lipped, teasing, “I can’t tell you that, really,” and suggesting that more information might be revealed in a future show.

Addressing the possibility of reconciling with challengers from the GOP primary, Trump expressed willingness to mend fences. In a humorous remark, he mentioned warming up to Chris Christie, who recently dropped out of the race. However, Trump dismissed the idea of having Christie as his running mate, considering it an unlikely scenario.

During the live town hall, Trump offered a glimpse into his prospective immigration policy for a second term. Responding to a supporter’s question about handling millions of undocumented immigrants, Trump emphasized the need for a sustainable immigration rate, citing concerns in New York City. He outlined plans for what he called “the largest deportation effort in the history of our country,” intending to return individuals to their countries of origin, asserting, “We have no choice. We have no choice.
