Stephen Miller has outlined why Trump and his allies are urging House Republicans to initiate criminal referrals against Biden. The intention behind these referrals is for Trump to potentially prosecute Biden and other Democrats should he make a return to the White House.
Miller has clarified the strategy for Trump: House Republicans are encouraged to make criminal referrals to the Department of Justice (DOJ). If Trump emerges victorious in the 2024 election, he intends to leverage these referrals to pursue legal action against his critics and political adversaries through a potentially weaponized Department of Justice in 2025.
This approach appears to align with the actions of deposed authoritarian leaders seeking to regain power. Beyond seeking revenge, it seems to be an endeavor to undermine institutions, eroding accountability and democratic principles.
Miller said on Fox News’s Sunday Morning Futures:
It will be open legal season on Republicans and the only way this ends and I hate to say it but it’s true is if Republicans return law in kind. That is the only way you could ever create the political conditions for a cease-fire. Otherwise, one size keeps getting pulverized. I think you have to take a hard look at both the Russia hoax conspiracy, all of these things, the open borders criminal and cartel conspiracy, the suppression of first amendment speech conspiracy, the deprivation of civil rights by the Biden administration and local prosecutors and on down through the list and of course Joe Biden and the conspiracy involving him and his children and you take all of that and you begin crafting criminal referrals, the Department of Justice which can then be taken up in 2025 under an honest DOJ.
The MAGA group’s intentions have never been discreet or hidden.
Trump’s agenda seems to involve undermining democracy and freedom within the United States. If he were to return to the White House, Trump appears resolute in pursuing this agenda and prioritizing legal action against those who have previously thwarted his ambitions.
