Who else is mentioned in the Georgia indictment against Trump?

It’s not just former President Donald Trump feeling the heat in the Georgia case about trying to flip the 2020 presidential election results. On Monday, a grand jury threw in their two cents, slapping indictments on a whopping 18 people tied to Trump.

Who made the list? Well, top of the chart is Trump’s ex-attorney, Rudy Giuliani. The gang also includes big names like John Eastman, Mark Meadows, Jenna Ellis, and Sidney Powell, among others. And let’s not forget Emily Misty Hayes and Ray Smith – the list is diverse and extensive.

The Fulton County District Attorney, Fani Willis, is spearheading the case using RICO – that’s the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act if you’re wondering. Georgia’s got their own spin on this law, making it a bit broader than the federal version.

These co-defendants aren’t just slapped with a single charge. Oh no, many have multiple counts stacked against them. Often, putting the spotlight on co-defendants can make them sing like canaries, helping the prosecution. Conversely, staying mum about them can speed things up.

Take the case led by Special Prosecutor Jack Smith against Trump. Some legal buffs reckon not naming every Tom, Dick, and Harry in the case might be a way to get things moving faster. Especially when many of those named are high-flying lawyers – they’re known for playing the long game in court. So, Willis might just keep dropping names if she feels it’ll grease the wheels of justice.

What’s Willis’ end game? On Monday evening, she shared that 19 folks, including Trump, are being pegged for allegedly trying some under-the-table moves to switch up the 2020 U.S. presidential election results. Willis is laser-focused on checking if their actions broke Georgia’s racketeering laws.

In Willis’ words, “All our elections are run by the states. They’re the guardians, ensuring everything’s above board. It’s foundational for our democracy.”

So, the stage is set, the players are named, and the drama unfolds. Stay tuned!”
