FBI Director Kash Patel is engaged to his girlfriend, country singer Alexis Wilkins, the couple announced in a post on X on Sunday evening.
Wilkins, 27, shared a black-and-white photo of herself with Patel, 46, holding her hand up in front of them to show off her ring. She captioned the image, “Went and got the law involved.” Patel reposted the photo.
The two have been dating since before Patel became head of the FBI in 2025. Wilkins attended his swearing-in.
A country singer and political commentator, Wilkins released her debut album in 2023. She has been affiliated with conservative groups and writes on her website that she “honors country tradition while adding relevance and current commentary.”
Patel has faced criticism for using government aircraft on trips with no known or apparent law enforcement purpose. That includes flying an FBI jet to State College, Pennsylvania, for a pro wrestling event where Wilkins performed the national anthem. Photos Wilkins posted to social media afterward showed the couple smiling while she held an oversized golden championship belt.
Wilkins also made headlines as a performer at President Donald Trump’s Great American State Fair on the National Mall, part of America 250. Other artists pulled out of the event after learning it was not a non-partisan celebration.
