King Charles ‘breaks silence’ on joining Harry for worthy cause

King Charles has reportedly made his feelings clear about Prince Harry’s much-anticipated return to the UK for the Invictus Games, a project that remains very close to the Duke of Sussex’s heart.

For the unversed, Prince Harry is set to bring the Invictus Games to Birmingham in 2027. The international sporting event, founded by the Duke in 2014, celebrates wounded, injured, and sick service personnel and veterans through competitive sports.

Ahead of the main event, Harry is expected to travel to the UK next month for promotional activities linked to the Games. His possible visit has once again sparked discussion about whether there could be a public reunion between the Duke of Sussex and members of the royal family.

It was previously reported that Harry would welcome support from the royals for the Invictus Games, especially as the event is one of his most meaningful initiatives. The Duke has remained closely involved with the project despite stepping back from royal duties and relocating to the US with Meghan Markle.

Now, a new report by the Daily Mail has claimed that a friend of King Charles revealed the monarch is “keen to show his support” for the Invictus Games. The source also shared, “Like the rest of the Royal Family, His Majesty believes that Invictus is a very worthy cause.”

According to the report, King Charles “hopes that the Games will be a big success for Birmingham next year and is aware that a lot of taxpayers’ money has been spent on it.”

The reported remarks have been seen as a positive sign for Prince Harry, who has spoken several times about his desire to repair ties with his family. His relationship with King Charles and Prince William has remained strained in recent years following his royal exit, interviews, documentary appearances, and memoir.

However, the Invictus Games could offer a rare opportunity for the royals and Harry to come together publicly for a cause that has long been respected across the family. While no official confirmation has been made that King Charles will attend or take part in any Invictus-related event, the latest claims suggest that the monarch views the Games positively.

The update may be encouraging for Harry, particularly amid King Charles’ ongoing health concerns. The Duke of Sussex has previously expressed his wish for reconciliation, especially after news of his father’s cancer diagnosis brought renewed attention to their relationship.

Royal watchers are waiting to see whether Harry’s upcoming UK visit will lead to any meeting with King Charles and whether the Invictus Games will help create a more peaceful chapter for the royal family.
