Riaz added that releasing the special during the holiday season may be part of a strategy to revive interest. The timing could help “inject some fresh momentum into the franchise, especially since it’s airing so soon after Season 2.”
Despite the pressure on the special, Riaz suggested that Netflix may not base its decision solely on viewership. “I think even if the special doesn’t perform strongly, Netflix may still weigh brand synergy and overall commercial alignment before making a final call,” she said.
The holiday installment arrives at a moment when Meghan’s media projects are under heightened scrutiny. With competition on streaming platforms increasing and viewer expectations shifting, the performance of this special could influence her broader relationship with Netflix.
