Cardi B’s boyfriend, NFL player Stefon Diggs, is pushing back hard against explosive allegations made by influencer Christopher Blake Griffith, who has accused him of drugging, sexually assaulting, and later conspiring to kill him. Diggs responded in court filings, arguing that the claims are fabricated and motivated by attention-seeking.
According to TMZ, the 31-year-old wide receiver says the “would-be social media influencer” invented a narrative that stems from an incident at Diggs’ home in May 2023. Griffith alleged that Diggs “drugged and sexually assaulted” him, and later claimed there was a conspiracy to kill him in order to “suppress his gay/bisexual secrets from becoming exposed.”
Diggs says the real events were far more ordinary. After a charity game in Washington, D.C., Diggs and others spent time at a local club. When he returned home and went to bed, his assistant asked Griffith to leave. Diggs says that was the end of it. He argues the rest of the story came from Griffith retelling and reshaping the night to his followers.
Once Griffith shared the accusations publicly, Diggs says the fallout spread quickly. Online accounts began attacking the NFL star across various platforms, including the New England Patriots’ social pages as well as Uggs, a brand he had a sponsorship deal with. Diggs claims the influencer’s posts set off a wave of harassment based on what he describes as a completely false account.
Griffith and his attorney, Jake Lebowitz, maintain the accusations are legitimate and say they look forward to presenting evidence in court. Lebowitz told TMZ, “Mr. Griffith is looking forward to showing the world in Court that regardless of the fairy tale fabricated by Mr. Diggs’ high-priced New York Lawyers, he is the victim of Mr. Diggs’ unwanted sexual advances and his brother’s violent attacks.”
The lawsuit does not yet specify the damages Griffith is seeking, and further details have not been disclosed. With both sides presenting starkly different accounts of what happened, the legal battle is shaping up to be contentious. As the case moves forward, the court will determine which version of the night stands up under scrutiny.
