Prince Harry’s reaction in a recent video shared by Meghan Markle has sparked discussion online after a body language expert suggested the moment appeared “planned” and lacked genuine enthusiasm.
The Duchess of Sussex posted an Instagram Story celebrating the Los Angeles Dodgers’ World Series win, featuring herself and Harry watching the game. While Meghan appeared excited, Harry’s subdued response drew attention, prompting analysis from body language expert Traci Brown, who spoke with Radar Online about the clip.
Brown said the setup of the video seemed unnatural for a spontaneous celebration. “First, it’s unusual to have a camera filming you watching a game, so she was planning on posting something,” she explained, implying that the moment was likely pre-arranged for social media.

She added that while the celebration itself may not have been scripted, Meghan appeared to be seeking a reaction from Harry that never quite came. “So the moment was planned, the celebration specifics may not have been. What we see is two people having very different responses to the same stimulus,” Brown noted.
According to her analysis, Meghan’s energy contrasted sharply with Harry’s restrained demeanor. “As she approaches him, she’s hoping for a response, and she’s a tad hesitant as she gets closer because her energy isn’t being returned,” Brown said.
The expert went on to explain that the lack of connection between the couple made the exchange look less authentic. “That’s what makes it look forced. The flow gets slower instead of faster in a moment of excitement,” she said.
Brown also pointed out that even Meghan’s friend, who joined in on the celebration, appeared slightly delayed in her reaction. “The thing that makes this seem unnatural is that it takes her friend an extra beat longer than it should have to get out of her chair and jump around as if the level of excitement were real,” she explained.

She concluded that subtle cues, such as delayed movements and mismatched energy, give the impression that the scene was orchestrated. “These small things send big messages of inauthenticity,” Brown said. The short video, which Meghan shared to mark the Dodgers’ victory, quickly spread across social media, with fans and critics weighing in on the couple’s dynamic.
While some viewers praised the duchess’s enthusiasm, others agreed with Brown’s assessment, noting Harry’s distant expression. The clip is the latest in a series of public appearances by the couple that have fueled speculation about their differing comfort levels in the spotlight.
