Texas Man Hides in Ex-Girlfriend’s Closet with Flowers, Kills Her New Boyfriend When Couple Returns Home

A 23-year-old man has been charged with murder after allegedly shooting and killing his ex-girlfriend’s new boyfriend early Sunday morning in a San Antonio neighborhood, according to the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO). Deputies responded to reports of a shooting around 2 a.m. on October 26 in the 7300 block of Roveen Trail.

When officers arrived, they found 26-year-old Noel Miller suffering from a gunshot wound in an upstairs bedroom. He was rushed to the hospital but later pronounced dead. According to arrest documents, Miller had just returned home with his girlfriend when the shooting occurred.

The woman told investigators she went upstairs to take a shower and then heard multiple gunshots. When she ran out of the bathroom, she saw her ex-boyfriend, identified as Shiateek De-Shean Wilson, standing in the doorway holding a gun.

The affidavit states that Wilson took the woman’s phone, told her “don’t call on me,” and fled the home on foot. Investigators later located Wilson at a friend’s house about a mile away from the scene and took him into custody without incident, as per San Antonio KENS reported.

During questioning, Wilson reportedly admitted to shooting Miller but claimed he acted in self-defense. He told detectives that Miller had pointed a gun at him first. However, no weapon belonging to Miller was found during a warrant search of the residence.

In his statement to police, Wilson claimed he had sneaked into the home earlier that night and hid in his ex-girlfriend’s daughter’s closet. He said he had been drinking and planned to “surprise” her with flowers, money, and cocaine. He also told officers that after the shooting, he threw away the gun, flowers, and other items while running from the scene.

Investigators recovered multiple shell casings and bullet holes inside the home, according to the affidavit, but no firearm was located. BCSO confirmed that Wilson has been charged with murder, a first-degree felony. He remains in custody as the investigation continues.

Neighbors expressed shock at the violent incident, describing the area as normally quiet and family-oriented. “You never expect something like this to happen right down the street,” one resident told reporters. Authorities have not yet released details about Wilson’s bond or upcoming court appearance. For now, the victim’s family is left grieving a life cut short in what investigators are calling a senseless act of violence.
