Royal Commentator Calls Meghan Markle’s Paris Fashion Week Move Incredibly Stupid

Paris Fashion Week has reportedly triggered what some are calling one of Meghan Markle’s biggest public missteps, allegedly leading to yet another resignation from her communications team. According to reports, Emily Robinson, the couple’s tenth publicist in five years, recently stepped down from her role as director of communications for Prince Harry and Meghan.

Her departure has fueled speculation about growing tensions within the Sussexes’ professional circle. A friend of Robinson’s told The Sun that the decision was entirely hers, saying, “It was her decision. She left a few weeks ago. She’s not a quitter, so things must have been pretty horrible for her to go.”

Following her exit, a spokesperson for the Sussexes released a statement to Us Weekly, downplaying any controversy. Ms. Robinson oversaw project-based work for a very successful season of With Love, Meghan, and additional support for the production company. She did an excellent job and completed these projects with great success,” the spokesperson said.

However, royal biographer Ingrid Seward suggested that the resignation was not as smooth as it appeared. Speaking to The Sun, she claimed the split came after disagreements between Robinson and the Sussexes. Seward also criticized Meghan’s recent public behavior, which she believes contributed to the fallout.

“So, of course, everyone said, Oh, she’s following the route that Diana took. Well, she probably may have been, or she may not have been, but how incredibly stupid,” Seward remarked, referencing Meghan’s apparent attempt to emulate Princess Diana’s glamorous public image.

“It was just really bad timing,” she added. “Now, her PR people would surely have advised her that putting up all these posts is not a good idea.” The controversy reportedly began during Paris Fashion Week, where Meghan’s media presence and social media activity drew attention for all the wrong reasons. Critics suggested that her posts came across as self-promotional and tone-deaf at a time when she faced increasing scrutiny over her public image.

The loss of another communications professional has sparked renewed questions about the Sussexes’ management style. Robinson’s departure follows a string of similar resignations from staff who previously worked with the couple, both in the United Kingdom and the United States.

Despite the speculation, Meghan and Harry have not addressed the reports directly. The couple continues to focus on their various media projects and philanthropic efforts under their Archewell Foundation, but the ongoing turnover within their team has raised concerns about internal instability.

For now, Paris Fashion Week has once again placed the Duchess of Sussex at the center of an unwanted spotlight — one she may find increasingly difficult to escape.
