According to a new report from Radar Online, the Duchess of Sussex has allegedly told her husband that she will not attend any royal event where Queen Camilla is present.
Palace insiders say the ultimatum has made Meghan’s return to royal life “virtually impossible” and has further complicated Harry’s efforts to rebuild ties with his family. A source told the publication that Meghan’s condition is framed as an act of support for Harry’s wish to reconnect with his father, but in practice.
It highlights her unwillingness to re-engage with the monarchy. “Her demand is meant to show she supports Harry’s wish to rebuild ties with King Charles, but without personally getting involved again,” the insider said. Royal observers, however, are describing the move as an “impossible ultimatum,” suggesting that it signals how deeply Meghan wants to distance herself from royal obligations.
“Meghan’s been absolutely firm that she won’t share a room with Camilla, no matter the occasion,” one palace source said. “She’s calling it a boundary, but inside the palace and in Harry’s eyes it’s viewed as a deliberate barrier – a way of making her return to royal life unworkable.”
The insider added that Meghan’s stance sends a clear message about her feelings toward the institution and her unwillingness to compromise. “It’s her saying, ‘I’ll never go back to the royal family with Harry,’” the source noted. Reports of Meghan’s ongoing hostility toward Camilla are not new.
