Kim Kardashian is opening up about the emotional toll of her marriage and divorce from rapper Kanye West, offering rare insight into their relationship during the season 7 premiere of The Kardashians. The 45-year-old reality star spoke candidly about how life after their split has affected her both emotionally and physically.
“I haven’t had psoriasis since I got divorced, and it just started coming back,” Kim revealed. “I mean, I have psoriasis again.” She went on to explain that stress has played a major role in her health issues. “I felt more stressed, probably just because I had to super, super protect what I had to protect,” she said, referring to her ongoing efforts to shield their children from public drama.
The Skims founder, who shares four children with West — North, 12, Saint, 9, Chicago, 7, and Psalm, 6 — said her priority has always been keeping their family environment stable. Reflecting on her marriage, she admitted she often felt trapped by a sense of obligation and sympathy for her ex-husband.

“I always felt like I had a bit of Stockholm syndrome,” Kim confessed. “I always felt really bad and always protected and always wanted to help [him].” Kim also addressed the misconception that she can simply move on and avoid contact with West. “That’s not my reality,” she said. “This person — we have four kids together. It’s very confusing, because it’ll be all this talk on the internet of like, ‘I’m keeping the kids.’ He’s never once called and asked [to see them].”
She described the frustration of seeing false narratives spread online. “But then I’ll wake up, and it’s on Twitter that I’m keeping the kids,” she continued. “When it’s not true and not rational, I just have to … I can’t engage all the time. It’s a divorce — not a kidnapping.”
Kim filed for divorce in 2021 after six years of marriage, citing irreconcilable differences. The split followed years of public tension, with Kanye’s controversial outbursts and social media activity frequently drawing attention to their relationship.

Despite their challenges, Kim has consistently emphasized her commitment to co-parenting and protecting her children’s privacy. Her recent comments show that, while the process remains complicated, she is focused on maintaining peace and stability for her family.
As she continues to balance motherhood, business, and fame, Kim’s reflections highlight the emotional complexity of moving forward after a high-profile marriage under constant public scrutiny.
