A palace insider told the outlet that Camilla has not moved past the revelations in Harry’s memoir Spare, which contained several harsh accusations against her. The source said the Queen believes Meghan “fueled” Harry’s resentment and played a central role in his decision to publicly criticize the royal family.
“Camilla thinks it’s utterly absurd to let Harry or Meghan back into the fold,” the insider said. “She was firmly opposed to Harry’s last visit, but Charles went ahead anyway,” they added, referencing Harry’s September trip to London, during which he briefly met with his father at Clarence House.
The insider also claimed that “the idea of Meghan returning, even for a short time, is something she finds completely unacceptable.” A friend of the Queen echoed those sentiments, saying Camilla still feels deeply hurt by how she was portrayed in Harry’s autobiography. “Camilla never forgets a slight,” the friend said.
“Being branded a wicked stepmother still stings, and Harry’s never once said sorry. In her eyes, Meghan fueled and magnified his anger toward the family.
