Ohio Man Kills Girlfriend’s 5-Month-Old Daughter While She Was Out with Other Children

A Madison Township man has been charged with murder after a 5-month-old infant in his care died from injuries that authorities say were inconsistent with the initial explanation provided. Glenn McIntosh, 39, is accused of causing severe blunt force trauma to the head of Ameira Reynolds, who was found unresponsive on Monday morning.

According to authorities, medics were called to the 4000 block of Willard Brook Road around 10:50 a.m. on Monday after reports that the infant was having trouble breathing. A prosecutor revealed in court, “Upon further observation, the baby was limp.” The mother, who had been desperately trying to reach McIntosh for an explanation, was left frantic as he failed to respond to her texts, according to WSYX.

Reynolds was rushed to a local hospital in critical condition. During a medical examination, doctors discovered injuries that didn’t align with the story initially told to detectives. It was soon determined that the infant had sustained several skull fractures. In response, McIntosh admitted that the baby had fallen.

However, court records indicate that the injuries were more severe, and the child had been subjected to blunt force trauma. Ameira Reynolds was pronounced dead at 6:32 p.m. on Tuesday. Her grieving mother shared a powerful statement in court: “You asked me to trust you. I trusted you with my baby, and you took her from me.”

She added, “I don’t deserve to have to bury my five-month-old baby. I can’t believe I let my guard down and trusted you. You hurt her and let her suffer. A baby, a defenseless baby. How dare you? You are a monster, and you will reap what you sow.”

After further investigation, McIntosh was arrested and charged with murder. He is currently being held in Franklin County Jail with a $2 million cash surety bond. A condition of his bond mandates that he stay away from the victim’s family. It was revealed that McIntosh and the infant’s mother had been dating for only three months before the tragedy occurred, according to The Columbus Dispatch.

The investigation is ongoing, and authorities encourage anyone with additional information to contact the Columbus Division of Police Homicide Unit at 614-645-4730 or Central Ohio Crime Stoppers at 614-461-TIPS (8477). Franklin County Children’s Services has confirmed they had no previous history with the family.
