Princess Beatrice and Eugenie ‘Must Believe Their Father’s Innocence’ to Live with Themselves, Says Royal Expert

Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie are standing firmly by their father, Prince Andrew, as controversy once again surrounds the former Duke of York. According to a royal expert, the sisters have “no other choice” but to believe in their father’s innocence if they wish to remain at peace with themselves.

Jennie Bond, a former BBC royal correspondent, told The Mirror that Beatrice and Eugenie’s loyalty to both their parents — Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson — has remained unwavering despite years of public scrutiny. “Whatever else you might think about Andrew and Sarah, they are brilliant parents and have brought up two very decent young women,” Bond said.

Bond explained that the sisters’ bond with their parents is one of deep affection and loyalty, making it difficult for them to question their father’s claims of innocence. “They must believe their father’s protestations of innocence… otherwise they surely couldn’t live with themselves,” she said.

The royal commentator also emphasized that Beatrice and Eugenie continue to hold their places within the royal family and are still welcome at major gatherings. “They will remain Princesses and be welcome at events with the rest of the Royal Family, such as Christmas at Sandringham,” Bond noted.

Despite the challenges their father has faced — including his connection to the late financier Jeffrey Epstein and the ongoing public criticism that has followed — both sisters have maintained a united front. Bond described their continued loyalty as both a reflection of their upbringing and their strong family ties.

“However, they are extremely close to their parents and have stayed loyal through thick and thin,” Bond said. “I’m sure they’ll be supporting Andrew and Sarah through this latest crisis, just as they have been there for them in the past.”

Beatrice, 36, and Eugenie, 34, have often kept a low public profile compared to their royal cousins, focusing instead on their families and careers. Yet, their closeness to their parents has never been in doubt.

As Bond summed up, their unwavering support for Prince Andrew is rooted not only in family loyalty but in emotional necessity — a daughter’s faith in her father. “They must believe him,” she said, “because the alternative would be unbearable.”
