Sam Asghari has spoken warmly about his ex-wife, pop superstar Britney Spears, saying he continues to wish her “the happiest” in life. The 31-year-old actor and fitness trainer, who was married to Spears from 2022 to 2024, shared that he looks back on their relationship with gratitude despite their separation.
Speaking to Us Weekly, Asghari said, “I just hope the best for her. And like I said before, I celebrate the past, and it’s a big part of me, so I think everything should go well for her.” Their marriage ended in 2024 after two years together, but Asghari has since moved forward. He is now in a relationship with Los Angeles real estate agent Brooke Irvine.
The couple went public in January after being spotted together in November 2024. Asghari described their relationship as “amazing” and said he feels content with where life has taken him. Earlier this year, Asghari opened up about his decision to encourage Spears to sign a prenuptial agreement before their wedding.
On the Trading Secrets podcast, he explained that his intention was to protect her financial security. “I wanted her to have a prenup. I wanted to make sure she’s protected because throughout her life, everybody — I don’t know one person that’s ever been in her life that didn’t take advantage of her,” he said.
Asghari also addressed ongoing speculation that he may have benefited from Spears’ fame. He firmly denied those claims, emphasizing that their connection began naturally when they met as co-stars on her “Slumber Party” music video in 2016. The pair began dating soon after and were often seen together during Spears’ legal battles and conservatorship fight, which ended in 2021.
Reflecting on his experiences in the public eye, Asghari said he has learned not to let outside opinions affect his peace of mind. He explained that his focus now is on personal growth and maintaining a positive outlook. “It’s about doing what makes me feel good,” he said.
Although their marriage ended, both have continued to chart their own paths. Spears released her memoir The Woman in Me in late 2023 and remains a subject of public fascination. Asghari, meanwhile, is pursuing new acting projects and building a life away from the spotlight of his former relationship. Through it all, his message for his ex-wife remains simple — a wish for happiness and peace.
