Aaron Phypers, the estranged husband of actress Denise Richards, has told a California court he is facing severe financial hardship as their ongoing divorce becomes more contentious. In court documents filed Wednesday and obtained by Page Six, the 53-year-old said he is nearly out of money and close to losing his home.
“I am out of money and financially desperate,” Phypers wrote in his declaration. “I am about to be evicted from the residence in which I am living. My utilities (water, power, gas) have all been turned off already.” Phypers claims he is being forced out of the Calabasas property once shared with Richards, explaining that he owes half of $120,000 in unpaid rent.
He argued that Richards, 54, is equally responsible because her name is on the lease. Richards, however, has stated she moved out years ago. Phypers countered that she left behind 15 rescue dogs and other personal belongings, which he says make her accountable for the costs.

According to his filing, Richards returned to the home on September 15 to collect belongings after the court granted her access due to a restraining order conflict. Phypers alleged that during this visit, she removed a health treatment machine and a weight set, equipment he says is essential for earning a living.
“I need that equipment in order to try to make a living, and she is preventing me from doing so,” he wrote, further claiming that Richards’ father, Irv Richards, told him she intended to sell the items for cash. Phypers said he requires $10,000 to pay legal fees and is seeking access to $150,000 from joint bank accounts he once shared with Richards, accounts that he claims held millions.
“There is a real danger of irreparable harm if I do not receive this, as I and my parents will be evicted and homeless with no funds to go anywhere,” he told the court. He also argued that he played a role in Richards’ success on OnlyFans, insisting he deserves part of the income.

Richards previously acknowledged his involvement during a 2022 SiriusXM interview, saying, “Aaron takes a lot of my content for me. He knows what guys like.”
While Phypers has asked for access to the joint funds to “survive, pay these debts, and be able to live safely like a normal person,” Richards filed her own motion Thursday, urging the court to reject his request. The court has yet to rule on the matter as the couple’s legal fight continues.
