Ray J Slams Kim Kardashian, Mariah Carey, and John Legend for “Using” Kai Cenat’s Stream Without Giving Back

Ray J has called out Kim Kardashian and other high-profile celebrities for failing to properly support streaming star Kai Cenat after appearing on his popular show.

The 44-year-old R&B singer joined Cenat’s Mafiathon 3 livestream and delivered a sharp criticism aimed at Kardashian, Mariah Carey, John Legend, and others who have stopped by the show in recent weeks.

“Old a** icons coming on Kai stream to promote themselves, but don’t show love back! No Twitch account to even try to gift him or the chat! SMH,” Ray J said during the broadcast.

Cenat, who has become one of the most influential figures in online streaming, has welcomed major celebrity guests to his platform. While Ray J acknowledged Cenat’s growing status, he suggested that stars were taking advantage of his reach without contributing to his success.

“Homie out here working hard doing 30-day subs, having people like Kim and Mariah coming on,” Ray J said. His frustration intensified as he explained that none of the famous guests had contributed financially to Cenat’s goal of hitting one million subscribers. “These n** didn’t gift this n* nothing. He tryna get to a million subs, Kim, Mariah, John Legend, all y’all n*,” he said.

Ray J contrasted their inaction with his own support, claiming he had donated heavily during Cenat’s stream. “I gifted like 15,000 that night. We’re on the platform with him and we’re supporting him… He’s trying to get to a million,” Ray J said.

He challenged Kardashian, Carey, Legend, and others to step up in the same way. “All y’all should gift 50,000… I’m starting to feel like y’all are using n*. It’s working for y’all. What y’all do for the homie?” he asked.

Ray J’s comments highlighted a growing tension around the relationship between traditional celebrities and new-wave online creators. While major stars often bring mainstream attention to digital platforms, many streamers and their supporters believe the partnerships should be reciprocal, with genuine investment in the creators themselves.

For Cenat, whose Mafiathon series has become a staple in the Twitch community, the debate underscores both his rising influence and the challenges of balancing celebrity collaborations with community-driven support.

Ray J made it clear that, in his view, the celebrities who have benefited most from Cenat’s spotlight owe more than just appearances. His remarks have since sparked conversation among fans about whether mainstream stars should give back more directly when leveraging digital creators’ platforms.
