Travis Scott Confirms Jackboys 2 With Pusha Controversy

Travis Scott is bringing the heat this summer—and he’s not coming alone. After months of cryptic teasers and flashy hints, the Houston superstar has officially announced that Jackboys 2, the long-awaited sequel to his 2019 Cactus Jack compilation, is dropping this Sunday, July 13.

The rapper confirmed the news with a bold flyer on social media, hyping, “The Jack is back with 17 tracks full of trunk rattling classics in the making.” Texas rap icon Bun B will host the project, adding even more Southern flavor to what’s already shaping up to be a wild ride.

Fans first got wind of Jackboys 2 way back in March when Travis teased it during a live show in Miami. Then in April, a gritty trailer—possibly directed by cult filmmaker Harmony Korine—surfaced online, sparking even more speculation. Since then, the buzz hasn’t stopped.

In the lead-up to the release, a bunch of artists rumored to be on the album—including Tyla, Waka Flocka Flame, 21 Savage, GloRilla, SoFaygo, SahBabii, Vybz Kartel, and Kodak Black—have been spotted posing with customized Lamborghinis decked out with the Jackboys 2 logo. The rollout is just as over-the-top as the music promises to be.

Scott even dropped a new music video for his track 2000 Excursion on YouTube to help build the hype. If the video’s energy is anything to go by, fans are in for a high-octane experience this Sunday.

The first Jackboys compilation back in 2019 was a major success. It featured Cactus Jack Records artists like Don Toliver and Sheck Wes and debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. The project yielded hits such as “Had Enough,” “Out West” featuring Young Thug, and a remix of “Highest in the Room.” With that kind of track record, expectations for the sequel are sky-high.

But not everything about this rollout is smooth. Just as anticipation peaks, the album’s release is being overshadowed by some drama—specifically, a fiery new diss from Pusha T.

In the latest Clipse single Let God Sort Em Out, Pusha spits some scathing lines that fans are convinced are aimed straight at Travis: “You cried in front of me, you died in front of me / Calabasas took your b— and your pride in front of me.” Oof.

Bun B addressed the diss on Shannon Sharpe’s Night Cap podcast, where he didn’t hold back: “Pusha’s a dangerous man,” he said. “He’s willing to throw caution to the wind and be like, ‘You know what? I don’t f— with him anyway.’” According to Bun, Pusha is the kind of guy who operates in the shadows and “really don’t have nothing to lose.”

But don’t expect Travis to take it lying down. “That being said, Travis ain’t ’bout to back down. He’s from Houston,” Bun added.

As Sunday creeps closer, fans are counting down not just for the music but for the fallout, too.
