Justin Timberlake is focusing on healing and rest after revealing his Lyme disease diagnosis, a challenge that has come with both difficulty and newfound clarity. The 44-year-old singer and actor shared the news with fans on July 31, explaining that the symptoms had been building for some time during his “Forget Tomorrow World Tour.”
Initially, Timberlake assumed that the exhaustion and pain were simply the result of aging and the physical toll of life on the road. However, as his symptoms worsened, it became evident that something more serious was at play.
A source close to Timberlake shared that he pushed through for months before finally seeking a diagnosis. “He’s not 20 anymore,” the insider noted. “But when his symptoms worsened, he realized something deeper was going on.”
The Lyme disease diagnosis provided Timberlake with much-needed answers to the nerve pain, severe fatigue, and general sense of being unwell that he had been experiencing while performing. Justin Timberlake’s wife, actress Jessica Biel, 43, has been an important source of support throughout this challenging period.
The source shared that Biel noticed something was off and encouraged him to seek medical attention. “She could tell that he wasn’t himself,” the insider said. “She’s incredibly supportive.” Timberlake also opened up about his condition on Instagram, explaining the toll the disease has taken on him.

“If you’ve experienced this disease or know someone who has, then you’re aware: living with this can be relentlessly debilitating, both mentally and physically,” he wrote. He continued, “But at least I could understand why I would be onstage and in a massive amount of nerve pain or, just feeling crazy fatigue or sickness.”
Now that the tour has ended, Timberlake is focusing entirely on his recovery. “He loved touring and being back onstage,” the source said, “but he’s also relieved it’s over. Now he can focus on his health.”
With the support of his family and a clearer understanding of his condition, Timberlake is taking it one day at a time, prioritizing his health and spending time with Biel and their two sons, Silas, 10, and Phineas, 4.
Timberlake’s journey toward healing continues, but he is now determined to take the necessary steps to get well, with the full support of his family.
