Prince William Reportedly Still Hurt by Royal Rift, Places Blame on Meghan

Prince William continues to carry emotional scars from the fallout with his brother, Prince Harry, and holds Meghan Markle responsible for the family rift, according to royal commentators. As talks of potential reconciliation between Harry and King Charles circulate, experts believe that Meghan remains a central obstacle in repairing relations within the royal family.

Former Sun Royal Correspondent Charles Rae told GB News that the Duchess of Sussex is “the fly in the ointment” when it comes to Prince Harry’s strained ties with his family. Rae suggested that any decision to reconnect with the Royal Family would ultimately rest with Meghan, who exerts significant influence over her husband’s choices.

“Prince William still feels deeply hurt by past events and blames Meghan for the rift,” Rae claimed, pointing to lingering resentment tied to the couple’s public criticisms of the monarchy and their dramatic exit from royal duties in 2020.

Although reconciliation between Harry and King Charles may be inching forward—highlighted by recent reports of a secret peace summit between their senior aides—experts remain skeptical that any broader healing within the family is likely, especially if Meghan remains distant.

Arthur Edwards, a veteran royal photographer, added that any return by Meghan to the UK would be nothing short of astonishing. “It would be a big moment, and I’d be surprised,” he said, emphasizing just how unlikely it would be to see the Duchess set foot on British soil again.

Prince Harry has previously cited safety concerns as the primary reason for not bringing Meghan and their children—Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet—back to the UK. He has insisted that without formal police protection, returning with his family is not feasible.

The Sussexes’ move to California and subsequent media engagements—including high-profile interviews and Harry’s revealing memoir Spare—have only widened the distance between the couple and the rest of the Royal Family. These events have reportedly left Prince William feeling betrayed and hesitant about any future reconciliation, particularly with Meghan involved.

While recent efforts indicate a willingness from King Charles to reopen dialogue with Harry, insiders suggest that William remains unconvinced and unwilling to move forward, especially without accountability for past grievances.

As of now, no official comment has been made by Buckingham Palace or the Sussexes’ representatives. However, speculation continues to swirl over whether the royal family can bridge the emotional and political divide—or if Meghan’s presence will keep the rift firmly in place.
