Prince Harry’s Next Move Could Involve an Emotional Reunion with His Father

If you’re one of the many people keeping tabs on the ongoing royal family drama, this bit of news might just catch your attention. There’s fresh speculation that Prince Harry could reunite with his father, King Charles, at next year’s Invictus Games in Birmingham, and it’s starting to sound more possible than ever.

Helen Helliwell, the CEO of the 2025 Invictus Games, recently chatted with People and shared her hopes about Harry showing up for the big event. And not just Harry — she also left the door open for King Charles to be involved.

“We will be delighted if they come over for the year out and for the Games,” she said. When asked if anything was set in stone yet, she added, “We are so far out it’s impossible for one individual to confirm their plans, but we would be delighted if the Duke were able to come.”

Fans have been hoping for this kind of reunion for a while now. With Harry’s strained relationship with the royal family still under the spotlight, this could be a big step toward healing those wounds. And based on what Helen shared, the Invictus team would welcome both royals with open arms.

She went on to praise Harry’s dedication to the veterans and service community that the Invictus Games serve. “He brings a magical sparkle dust to his interactions, and there is a special relationship with him and the community. So, we will be super excited to host him in Birmingham as well.”

If you’ve followed Prince Harry’s journey over the past decade, you’ll remember he founded the Invictus Games in 2014. It started as a way to support wounded, injured, and sick service personnel through sports, and it’s grown into a worldwide movement.

Helen spoke about that growth and how meaningful it is to bring the Games back to the UK. “His vision has just grown and grown and grown,” she said. “So to have it back in the UK for this eighth iteration, I think, is special. I think it’s going to be a special moment for the whole country. But particularly, I think a real sense of pride for him in seeing just how far that movement has come.”

What’s especially interesting is the quiet talk that Harry might personally extend invitations to both King Charles and Prince William. That would be a huge gesture of goodwill after years of distance and tension.

Helen had previously noted that the royal family has supported the Games since the beginning. “They’ve been supporters of Invictus since its inception in 2014,” she said. And despite all the drama, it seems the shared respect for service members still runs deep within the family.

Right now, Buckingham Palace hasn’t confirmed anything, and it’s still too early to say if a reunion is happening. But based on Helen’s comments, the team is hopeful, and fans are paying attention.

The idea of Prince Harry returning to the UK for such a meaningful event — and maybe standing beside his father again — would be a powerful moment. Until official word comes through, we’ll just have to keep watching and hoping.
