Brad Pitt Seeks Access to Angelina Jolie’s Private Messages Ahead of Winery Trial

Brad Pitt has taken a fresh legal step in his ongoing and increasingly bitter dispute with ex-wife Angelina Jolie over their former shared French estate, Château Miraval. The actor is now demanding access to Jolie’s private communications related to the controversial sale of her stake in the property.

According to court documents filed in June and obtained by Page Six, Pitt is asking the court to compel Alexei Oliynik—an executive at Stoli Group, the company that bought Jolie’s shares—to provide his communications with Jolie and submit to a deposition. Pitt’s legal team claims that despite efforts to secure Oliynik’s cooperation, the process has stalled.

Oliynik, a Swiss resident, has reportedly declined to participate in the deposition, citing Swiss laws that prevent foreign nationals from being forced to attend legal proceedings in California. However, Pitt’s attorneys argue that the law doesn’t apply in this case because they are only requesting a remote deposition conducted from Switzerland.

The legal filing also accuses Oliynik of being “a key operative” in the controversial transaction and suggests he was “acting at the direction of his boss, Stoli chief Yuri Shefler.” Pitt’s team describes Oliynik as “unquestionably one of this lawsuit’s most important witnesses.”

Pitt and Jolie purchased Château Miraval during their relationship, and the estate played a central role in their lives, even serving as the site of their 2014 wedding. After the couple’s split, Jolie sold her share of the winery—a move Pitt described as “vindictive,” prompting him to file a lawsuit in 2022.

While a trial date has not yet been scheduled, this latest filing represents a significant development in the case. A source close to Pitt’s legal team told Page Six, “It’s not just about Alexei [Oliynik], it’s about Stoli [Group] as a whole.” Another insider claimed, “Stoli has consistently chosen to avoid or challenge evidentiary court rulings. They’ve been failing to comply with the typical legal process.”

The legal battle continues even after Pitt and Jolie finalized their divorce in December 2024, nearly a decade after their 2014 wedding. The pair first became a couple in 2004 and separated in 2016. Privately, Pitt is said to be deeply affected by the fallout with his children Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, and twins Vivienne and Knox.

“His biggest regret is he can’t repair this,” a source told The Blast.. “The case is over, but there are no winners… he doesn’t have a great relationship with his kids.” Pitt is now dating Ines de Ramon, while the legal battle over Château Miraval wages on.
