The Princess of Wales, Kate Middleton, has reportedly reached out once again to Prince Harry at the request of King Charles, as the monarch pushes for a reconciliation with his estranged son and a stronger relationship with his grandchildren.
According to Closer magazine, King Charles is growing increasingly concerned about the emotional distance between himself and Prince Harry’s young family, especially after Harry and Meghan Markle quietly celebrated their daughter Lilibet’s fourth birthday earlier this month.
The monarch, who has only met Lilibet once and seen Prince Archie just a few times, is said to be heartbroken over the situation. An insider told the outlet, “It breaks Charles’ heart that he hasn’t been able to build a relationship with Archie and Lilibet – he’s already missed so many milestones that he can never get back.”
The source continued, “The hope is that Harry will stop being so hardheaded and bring the kids over to spend time with their grandfather, but so far, he hasn’t made any moves towards that, so Kate is scrambling to find some sort of solution.”
In light of King Charles’ ongoing health concerns and the fast pace at which the children are growing up, the royal family reportedly sees this matter as increasingly urgent. “This isn’t a matter that can continually be kicked down the road – with Charles’ health and the kids growing up so fast, time is precious,” the insider emphasized.
The report claims that video calls are currently being explored as a temporary measure to bridge the gap between the King and his grandchildren. “For now, though, the only solution that seems viable is for Charles to start bonding with them over video calls,” the source added.
Kate Middleton has often been viewed as a stabilizing force within the royal family and is believed to have maintained a cordial relationship with Prince Harry, despite the growing rift between the Duke and Duchess of Sussex and the rest of the royal household.
With tensions still high and no official move from Harry toward reconciliation, Charles is said to be relying on Kate’s diplomatic influence to encourage dialogue and reconnect the fractured family.
