Melania Trump Charges $25 for AI-Generated Audiobook in Her Voice: “Let the Future of Publishing Begin

First Lady Melania Trump is venturing into the world of artificial intelligence and publishing, charging $25 for an audiobook version of her memoir Melania, narrated entirely by an AI-generated version of her own voice.

“I am honored to bring you Melania – The AI Audiobook – narrated entirely using artificial intelligence in my own voice,” the 55-year-old posted on X (formerly Twitter). “Let the future of publishing begin.”

Promoted as a bold new step for the industry, Trump emphasized her pride in leading this technological frontier. “I am proud to be at the forefront of publishing’s new frontier—the intersection of artificial intelligence technology and audio,” she told Fox News.

The seven-hour audiobook, available in English, was developed using ElevenLabs AI, a state-of-the-art audio company co-founded in 2022 by former Google and Palantir engineer Mati Staniszewski. The company has previously created high-profile voice recreations, including Darth Vader’s appearance in Fortnite.

According to Trump’s website, “multiple foreign language versions will be released at a later date, commencing in Fall 2025.” The audiobook’s promotional campaign will soon expand to major cities, with billboards slated for Times Square, Los Angeles, and Miami. In the accompanying video ad, Melania declares: “My story, my perspective, the truth.”

A statement on her site reads, “Melania Trump is breaking new ground in publishing with Melania: The Audiobook, created entirely with artificial intelligence. The narrator is an AI-generated replica of Melania Trump’s voice, created under Mrs. Trump’s direction and supervision.”

The memoir itself was originally released in October 2024 and chronicles her journey from her childhood in Slovenia to her rise in fashion and eventual role as First Lady. It also includes never-before-seen stories and photographs from her time in the White House.

The audiobook is just one component of Trump’s growing portfolio. On the eve of her husband’s second inauguration in January, she launched her own meme cryptocurrency, the $MELANIA coin, which now boasts a market cap of over $150,000, according to CoinGecko.

Additionally, Amazon has invested $40 million in a behind-the-scenes docuseries titled An Unprecedented, Behind-the-Scenes Look at First Lady Melania Trump, currently in production and directed by Brett Ratner, per the Daily Beast.

Despite her embrace of AI in publishing, Melania is actively supporting legislation to limit AI abuse. In March, she joined lawmakers to promote the “TAKE IT DOWN” Act, aimed at curbing nonconsensual deepfake imagery online.

“The widespread presence of abusive behavior in the digital domain affects the daily lives of our children, families, and communities,” she said at the event. The bill was signed into law by President Trump on May 19.
