Kim Kardashian has officially wrapped up her four-year law apprenticeship—and in true Kardashian fashion, she didn’t just tick the box quietly. What started as a normal family brunch turned into a full-blown surprise celebration in Beverly Hills, complete with friends, family, and even some unexpected guests from her legal team.
According to Us Weekly, the 43-year-old SKIMS mogul was under the impression she was heading to a casual midweek meal with the family on Wednesday, May 21. But instead, she walked into a surprise graduation party thrown by the Kardashian-Jenner clan to mark her huge milestone.

“They are all excited and proud of her and wanted to surprise her to celebrate this accomplishment,” a source told the outlet.

It wasn’t just her glam squad and reality TV-famous siblings who turned up either—Kim’s mentors from her legal journey also made a surprise appearance. “Her law mentors are also surprising her, and she has no clue they will be there,” the source added.
Over the years, Kim’s journey into law has attracted both admiration and raised eyebrows, especially since she’s been pursuing her qualification through California’s alternative legal route—known as “reading the law”—which skips traditional law school. Instead, it requires years of studying under licensed lawyers and passing several exams. It’s a tough path, and not exactly common, but Kim’s been at it since 2019.
She’s made it no secret that the inspiration behind her legal ambitions stems from her late father, Robert Kardashian, who was famously part of O.J. Simpson’s defence team. “I know my dad would be so proud, and he would actually be so shocked to know that this is my path no,w but he would have been my best study partner,” Kim previously shared.

It’s not just about the books, though. Over the past few years, Kim’s been increasingly involved in criminal justice reform, working with lawyers and activists to help free wrongly convicted prisoners and bring attention to unfair sentencing in the US.
So while many know her as a reality star and business mogul, Kim’s steadily built a reputation in legal circles, and this latest milestone shows she’s not just dabbling—she’s serious about it. And if the surprise party’s anything to go by, her loved ones are just as proud as she is determined.
