Laura Loomer Explodes Over Trump’s Surgeon General Pick With No Active Medical License

Far-right activist and conspiracy theorist Laura Loomer has reignited her public criticism of the Trump administration, this time targeting President Donald Trump’s newly announced nominee for U.S. Surgeon General, Dr. Casey Means.

Just hours after Trump withdrew the nomination of Dr. Janette Nesheiwat, a candidate Loomer herself had vocally opposed, the former president introduced Means as his new pick for the nation’s top public health role. The choice did little to appease Loomer, who immediately launched into a series of scathing social media posts questioning Means’ qualifications and political alignment.

“Casey Means, the new Trump nominee for US Surgeon General, doesn’t even have an active medical license in Oregon when she established her medical practice,” Loomer wrote, pointing to public records she claims show a lack of medical credentials in the state where Means previously practiced, according to the Raw Story.

“How is the top doctor in the US supposed to give medical guidance and advice to the nation when she doesn’t even have an active medical license in the state where she allegedly practiced medicine?” she continued. “This is so embarrassing for the Trump administration.”

Loomer also claimed that Means lacks loyalty to Trump and questioned the vetting process behind her nomination. “Didn’t even support Donald Trump,” she wrote. “Who is doing the vetting?????”

Trump’s pick of Means—a wellness influencer and advocate for metabolic health—has stirred debate in conservative circles, with some critics raising questions about her medical and political background. While Means is a trained physician, Loomer emphasized that she is not currently licensed to practice medicine in Oregon.

In a separate post, Loomer questioned the job title itself. “The term Surgeon General is interesting given the fact that there is no requirement to be a Surgeon to be Surgeon General,” she noted. “Turns out you can be a social media influencer and become Surgeon General.”

Loomer’s criticisms extended beyond the nominee herself. In another lengthy post, she took aim at Means’ family, alleging that her father “wrote a pro-trans children’s book.” She added, “I’m told that Casey is VERY CLOSE with her father and shares his views.”

“So basically, we are now going to have a Democrat US Surgeon General who doesn’t even have an active medical license and whose family is writing books about how to make children transgender,” Loomer concluded. “What a mess.”
