At a White House event honoring Women’s History Month on Wednesday, President Donald Trump made headlines with a surprising self-designation, declaring he would be “known as the fertilization president.”
Speaking to a crowd of women gathered in the East Room, Trump used the occasion to highlight the female leaders within his administration, including Attorney General Pam Bondi and Attorney Alina Habba, while also promoting his stance on reproductive issues—specifically, in vitro fertilization (IVF).

“We’re going to have tremendous, tremendous goodies in the bag for women too, the women between the fertilization and all of the other things that we’re talking about,” Trump said, drawing a mix of reactions from the audience. “It’s going to be, it’s going to be great.”
The president went on to embrace the label, even if it struck some as unusual. “I’m still very proud of it, I don’t care,” he added. “I’ll be known as the fertilization president, that’s not bad, that’s not bad. I’ve been called much worse.”

He emphasized the presence of women in his cabinet, boasting about surpassing past Republican presidents in appointing women to high-level positions.
“I’ve got the strongest women,” Trump declared. “You are superior to men… I’ve known it all my life, and I’m not happy about it.” While the president’s comments were met with some applause and laughter from attendees, his remarks also raised eyebrows for their offbeat tone and choice of language.
