Prince Harry and Meghan’s Public Image Fueled by Controversy, Expert Reveals

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been criticized for maintaining their public presence while previously condemning similar behavior within the Royal Family. Royal biographer Hugo Vickers weighed in on the couple’s recent actions, highlighting their apparent “ceasefire” on royal matters amidst declining popularity.

In an interview with The Sun, Vickers noted that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex seem to have stepped back from royal commentary. “They’ve realized that it wasn’t getting anywhere because it was causing so much trouble,” he said, adding that their silence might stem from their previous remarks having “lost mileage.”

Despite this shift, Vickers described the change as a “positive” development, suggesting the couple might be reevaluating their approach. However, he pointed out that staying in the public eye remains essential for the couple’s financial endeavors.

“In order to earn a lot of money, they have to sometimes be controversial, if you like, or [do] things which will keep themselves in the public eye,” Vickers explained. The biographer also turned his attention to Prince Harry, emphasizing his role in mending strained royal relationships.

“He’s the one who needs to pull himself together and extend the olive branch because he is the one making it difficult between them,” Vickers concluded. This critique comes amid broader public discussions about Harry and Meghan’s evolving roles post-royal exit.

While the couple has focused on various independent projects, including media ventures and philanthropy, their public image continues to draw scrutiny. As they navigate their path outside the royal fold, the couple faces the challenge of balancing their personal values with the public’s expectations, particularly given their past criticisms of the monarchy.

Vickers’ remarks underscore the complexities of their position and the ongoing debate about their approach to fame and family relations.
