Prince Harry Says Life in America is What His Mom Wanted for Him: ‘I Can Do Things with My Kids I Couldn’t in the U.K.’

Meghan Markle recently shared a heartfelt statement in support of the UK-based charity Smart Works, following Prince Harry’s honest confession about his life in the United States. Meghan, who has long supported the charity, praised its work empowering women across the UK during the inaugural Smart Works event.

In a program handed to attendees, Meghan wrote, “Tonight promises to be a truly magical celebration, filled with special guests and performers, and most importantly, the shared spirit of community that defines Smart Works.” She continued, “Together we gather to honor the work and dedication of this remarkable organization, which continues to empower women across the UK through coaching, dressing, and instilling confidence on their journey to employment.”

Meghan’s words came as the charity gathered to celebrate its ongoing efforts to support women by helping them regain confidence and secure employment. The Smart Works charity offers coaching, professional clothing, and support to women in need, helping them prepare for interviews and reenter the workforce with confidence.

Meanwhile, Meghan’s husband, Prince Harry, made headlines earlier when he revealed his feelings about life in America and whether he would ever return to the UK with his wife and children. Speaking at The New York Times’ DealBook Summit, Harry reflected on his life in the United States and how it has shaped his family’s future.

“I very much enjoy living here and bringing up my kids here,” Harry said. “It’s a part of my life that I never thought that I was gonna live.” He also shared a deeper connection to his new life, adding, “I feel as though it’s the life that my mom wanted for me.” Harry reflected on the joys of raising his children in America, saying, “To be able to do the things I’m able to do with my kids that I undoubtedly wouldn’t be able to do in the U.K. — it’s huge.”

Both Meghan and Harry have embraced their new life in America, finding joy in raising their family and supporting causes close to their hearts, like Smart Works.
