House Oversight Committee Chair James Comer (R-KY) announced Greene’s appointment to the Subcommittee on Delivering on Government Efficiency on Thursday, according to CNBC. The subcommittee will work closely with DOGE to implement Trump’s vision of reducing bureaucracy and cutting government waste.
A source told CNBC that Comer had already met with Ramaswamy, and the two groups were collaborating. “We are grateful that the House Oversight Committee has created a DOGE subcommittee to focus on this work,” a spokesperson for Ramaswamy said. “We look forward to working together.”
During a Fox Business interview, Comer pledged aggressive action to reduce inefficiencies in government. “We’re going to work very closely with Elon Musk and Ramaswamy,” he said, emphasizing plans to “get the chopping block going.”
In a statement to CNBC, Greene expressed enthusiasm for her role and reiterated her commitment to reducing government overreach. “I’m excited to chair this new subcommittee designed to work hand in hand with President Trump, Elon Musk, Vivek Ramaswamy, and the entire DOGE team,” she said. “No topic will be off the table.” Greene also highlighted plans to target federal employees she deems unnecessary, vowing to lead efforts to fire “bureaucrats.”
