According to Express US, Maclaran, a professor and royal expert, discussed the reasons behind the couple’s recent decision to pursue separate projects.
She suggested that several factors may have influenced this change. “I think that several things must have spurred the decision for Harry and Meghan to undertake separate initiatives going forward,” Maclaran shared.
Maclaran also provided insight into the couple’s previous joint branding strategy, suggesting that it hasn’t been as effective as they may have hoped. “I don’t think their joint branding strategy has worked particularly well for them, with their star power tending to overshadow their Archewell Foundation activities,” she explained.
The expert further noted that whenever Prince Harry and Meghan Markle appear together, the focus often shifts toward Meghan, which may have limited Harry’s individual visibility. “When they appear together, the focus tends to be on Meghan rather than Harry,” Maclaran observed.
She expressed optimism about Harry’s recent decision to step into the spotlight independently, stating, “It is good to see him doing more in his own right recently, and this is likely to make him more popular with the public.”
