Expert Suggests Harry and Meghan Are in a ‘Flop Era’ Despite Colombia, Nigeria Tours and Legal Wins

A royal expert has offered crucial advice to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, suggesting that the couple needs significant success to overcome what is being called their “flop era.” Matt Wilkinson pointed out that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been facing negative press recently, particularly during their solo professional engagements, with Harry making eight work trips accompanied by Meghan.

In a conversation with Kinsey Schofield, Wilkinson highlighted that the couple’s upcoming Invictus Games and Harry’s legal battles against UK newspapers could serve as potential successes that help turn their fortunes around.

“They do need a success. They’ll sit down and point to Colombia and Nigeria (the quasi-royal tours) as a success,” he explained on Schofield’s show, referring to the couple’s past initiatives. Wilkinson suggested that these international appearances could be seen as positive steps for the Sussexes.

Wilkinson further emphasized the potential impact of the Invictus Games, scheduled for next year, as a chance for the couple to reclaim their influence. “They’ve still got Invictus to come next year. I can’t call it a flop era, but they possibly do need a win. Harry will point to legal cases he’s launched against newspapers in the UK; he has had success in the courts,” Wilkinson noted.

Reflecting on the overall situation, he added, “Once you put it like that and you think about it, maybe they are in a flop era.” The expert’s comments underline the importance of a major success for the Duke and Duchess as they continue their efforts to re-establish themselves and counter the negative publicity they’ve faced.
