Prince William is reportedly in high spirits as the controversy surrounding his uncle, Prince Andrew, nears resolution, and now he is turning his attention toward another royal issue — his younger brother, Prince Harry, and Meghan Markle.
According to a source who spoke with Closer, the Prince of Wales is urging King Charles to follow through on his earlier commitment to “streamline” the monarchy. The insider revealed that William is celebrating the firm stance taken against Prince Andrew and wants to maintain that same momentum.
“William’s absolutely convinced that the monarchy can only survive if it’s streamlined and scandal-free, and in his view that means Meghan and Harry need to be cut loose completely,” the source said.

The insider added that William views his father’s firm approach toward Prince Andrew as a sign of progress. “He wants to keep up the momentum and hold his father to his promise, which was to slim down the monarchy together and cut ties with hangers-on who profit from their connections to the family even though they’re not serving royals,” they explained.
The source also noted that William sees Charles’ decision to distance the family from Andrew as “a huge victory.” They said, “It’s something he’s been after for ages, and in his view, it’s paved the way for Harry to get the same sort of treatment.”
Prince Andrew, the Duke of York, has already stepped back from royal duties and surrendered his military titles and patronages following public outrage over his association with Jeffrey Epstein. Now, members of Parliament are pushing for a permanent removal of his remaining titles.

Stephen Flynn, leader of the Scottish National Party in Westminster, told The Guardian, “If the Westminster parties remain stubbornly slow in removing Prince Andrew’s titles, the SNP will do all we can to force them to act.”
Flynn explained that Parliament must pass legislation to strip Andrew’s titles officially. “Prince Andrew’s titles can only be removed by an act of parliament. Therefore, this SNP motion is a way to pile pressure on the UK Labour government to bring forward that legislation immediately,” he said.
He added, “The only real question is what Keir Starmer’s government is waiting for. The public knows this is the right thing to do, and even more importantly, the victims at the heart of the Epstein scandal know that it’s the right thing to do. It needs to be done without any further excuses and any further delay.”

As William celebrates what he sees as progress with Andrew’s case, it appears he’s determined to ensure the same firm approach is applied to his brother and sister-in-law in his vision of a future, scandal-free monarchy.
