Prince Harry’s Openness Shows He’s in a Good Place, Says Insider: “He Has a Selfless Side”

A body language expert has weighed in on the striking personality differences between Prince Harry and his brother, Prince William, highlighting Harry’s emotional openness in contrast to William’s more reserved demeanor.

During Prince Harry’s recent appearance at the 2025 NEXUS Global Summit in New York, body language specialist Darren Stanton analyzed the Duke of Sussex’s expressions and behavior, noting his natural emotional expressiveness.

“Harry has an ability to show this selfless side of himself in front of the audience, which shows he’s in a good place and wants to be open and let people in,” Stanton told The Express. According to Stanton, Harry’s facial expressions shifted rapidly and fluidly during the event — a clear indicator, he says, of someone who does not hide how they feel.

“We know this from his facial expressions changing quite quickly, and he isn’t one to hide anything, which tells us his emotions are genuine,” Stanton explained. This, he noted, sets Harry apart from William, the Prince of Wales, who is often more guarded during public appearances. “Harry tends to wear his heart on his sleeve a lot more than William,” Stanton added.

Stanton also observed that Harry appeared deeply connected to his values during the summit and fully invested in the causes he supports. “We can see him connecting with himself and sharing a deep passion for what he believes in,” he said.

While the two brothers share royal lineage and public roles, their differing approaches to emotion and self-expression have often been the subject of public scrutiny, particularly since Harry stepped back from royal duties in 2020 and moved to the United States with his wife, Meghan Markle.

Prince William, as the heir to the throne, is often expected to maintain a composed, measured public image, while Harry, no longer bound by the same royal protocols, appears freer to show vulnerability and authenticity. Stanton’s comments have sparked renewed discussion about how both princes represent different aspects of modern royalty — William as the traditional future monarch and Harry as a more emotionally transparent public figure.

As Prince Harry continues to make public appearances tied to philanthropic and social causes, experts suggest his open demeanor could be key to his ongoing appeal and effectiveness in global advocacy. Meanwhile, Prince William continues his duties in the UK, embracing a more formal style of leadership in line with royal expectations.
