Prince Harry reportedly planning to start a new business, which could fuel royal family rift

Prince Harry may be considering a new business venture—one that, according to a royal expert, could create fresh tensions within the royal family. As speculation grows over the Duke of Sussex’s next steps, concerns have emerged about how a commercial move might be perceived by both the public and the monarchy.

While Meghan Markle has been actively building her portfolio of business ventures, including her recent lifestyle brand and media projects, Harry has kept a lower profile, focusing primarily on charitable efforts, particularly his longstanding work with the Invictus Games.

However, recent reports indicate the Duke may be seeking a new purpose, possibly through launching a business project alongside his philanthropic commitments. Royal commentator Jennie Bond, speaking to The Mirror, cautioned that such a move could open Harry up to criticism.

“Personally, I think this commercial route opens him up to all sorts of accusations of trading on his royal status, which would make him an even angrier young man than at present,” she said. Bond suggested that Harry, despite his current wealth, may be feeling pressure to find a more defined role outside of the royal institution.

“I think Harry is still trying to figure out where he goes from here. By normal standards, he’s a very rich man, but life in Montecito doesn’t come cheap, especially with all the security costs he deems necessary,” Bond explained. She went on to question whether Harry is comfortable letting Meghan take the lead in their financial endeavors.

“So is he content for his wife to be the breadwinner while he concentrates on the children and charity work? There’s nothing wrong with that, but he might feel he needs to pursue commercial ventures too.” Despite her concerns, Bond noted that Harry has valuable qualities that make him especially effective in charitable and public-facing roles.

“There’s nothing wrong with being a stay-at-home dad and using his influence to help charities around the world,” she said. “He’s brilliant at interacting with people and at just being Harry. He should perhaps stick to what he’s born to, trained for, and truly good at.”

As Prince Harry weighs his options, the royal expert’s comments underline the delicate balance he must maintain between forging an independent identity and avoiding renewed conflict with the institution he left behind.
