Prince Harry Blamed for Royal Rift, Urged to ‘Be Man Enough’ by Expert

Prince Harry is being held solely responsible for the deepening rift between himself and the Royal Family, according to veteran royal expert Robert Jobson. Speaking to The Sun, Jobson dismissed claims that Meghan Markle is to blame for the ongoing estrangement, placing accountability squarely on the Duke of Sussex.

The comments come in the wake of Harry’s recent BBC interview, where he expressed frustration after losing his legal appeal for taxpayer-funded security during visits to the UK. The interview, widely viewed as a pointed critique of his family’s stance, has reignited public debate over his role in the fractured royal relationships.

“Maybe there was a degree of that bitterness in what he gave that interview with the BBC, a sense, again, he wasn’t there – and he knows he should be there,” Jobson said, suggesting that Harry’s words reflected regret over his absence from royal life.

While many have often pointed fingers at Meghan Markle for influencing Harry’s decision to step back from royal duties, Jobson pushed back against that narrative. “A lot of people blame Meghan for a lot, I don’t blame her at all,” he said. “I think he’s got to be man enough to make his own decisions, and some of the decisions he’s made have been absolutely wrong.”

Jobson emphasized that the estrangement was not caused by Harry seeking a private life, but rather by the public nature of his criticisms and revelations. “Nobody said you shouldn’t go away and have a private life,” he continued. “But if he hadn’t done the book and if he hadn’t done the Oprah interview, there’s no doubt in my view that he would have been invited back to do certain things.”

Prince Harry and Meghan’s bombshell 2021 interview with Oprah Winfrey, in which they made serious allegations about their time in the royal household, and the release of Harry’s memoir Spare have been major sources of tension between the Sussexes and the rest of the royal family.

Jobson’s comments reflect growing sentiment among royal watchers that reconciliation may only be possible if Harry takes personal responsibility for his actions and makes a conscious effort to rebuild trust. As the royal family navigates its future without full participation from one of its most high-profile members, Harry’s next steps will likely determine whether healing or further division lies ahead.
