The Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle, opened up about her personal fears surrounding money and financial security during the finale episode of her podcast, Confessions of a Female Founder. In a candid conversation with Spanx billionaire Sara Blakely, Meghan reflected on the emotional complexities women often face when it comes to wealth and financial independence.
The 43-year-old Duchess, who launched the podcast earlier this year under Archewell Audio Productions, spoke frankly about her own experiences, sharing how deeply ingrained societal norms can shape women’s financial mindsets. “So many women, especially, we’re taught to not even talk about money,” Meghan said. “And there’s lots of guilt mentality surrounding having a lot.”
Speaking with Blakely, who rose from selling fax machines to becoming a self-made billionaire with a net worth of $1.3 billion, Meghan admitted she is actively working to adopt a healthier perspective on money.
“There’s a scarcity mindset that it’s easy to attach to, of like ‘I’ll never have enough,’” she added. “I would love to adopt a better one.” The discussion between the two female founders delved into more than just business. Meghan also reflected on her pregnancies with Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, highlighting how she balanced public appearances with physical challenges.

“I mean, I gained 65 pounds with both pregnancies,” Meghan recalled. “A friend just said to me the other day, they were like, ‘I just saw this picture I’d forgotten about when you were so pregnant with Archie.’” Known for her poised public image, Meghan humorously described wearing high heels while heavily pregnant.
“I always wear my five-inch, pointy-toed stilettos. You have the most enormous bump, and your tiny little ankles are bracing themselves in these high heels,” she said. “But all my weight was in the front… So you’re just going, how on Earth am I not just tipping, you know, face planting? I was clinging very closely to my husband, like, ‘Please don’t let me fall.’”
Since stepping back from royal duties in 2020, Meghan has been living in Montecito, California, with her husband, Prince Harry, and their two children. Their luxurious property has reportedly surged in value, keeping pace with the California housing market, which has seen a 41% increase in median prices since June 2020.
Confessions of a Female Founder debuted on April 8, 2025, and featured Meghan interviewing trailblazing women entrepreneurs. It remains uncertain whether the podcast will return for a second season.
