King Charles has no plans to step down despite cancer battle

Despite the rumors swirling around, it looks like King Charles has no intention of stepping away from his royal duties anytime soon—even while dealing with cancer. According to royal expert Jonathan Sacerdoti, the King is still showing up and sticking to his responsibilities as much as possible.

Talking to Fox News Digital, Sacerdoti explained that Charles is determined to stay active and won’t be stepping down unless it becomes absolutely necessary. “It seems unlikely that the king will want to step back from his duties any more than is strictly necessary,” he said.

Yes, Charles has had to cancel a few engagements recently, but Sacerdoti says it barely made a dent in his usually packed schedule. “He has always been clear that his work ethic compels him to be as busy as possible,” Sacerdoti added.

If anything, he’s taking a page straight out of his mother’s playbook. Queen Elizabeth II continued working well into her 90s—even when her health wasn’t at its best—and it seems that Charles is set on doing the same.

Sacerdoti pointed out, “The example of his late mother’s older years shows that, when needed, the royal family can accommodate sharing the burden, if necessary. But just as Queen Elizabeth II continued to work well into her old age, and even when she was not entirely healthy, I am sure that the king will want to do the same and keep going as much as is possible.”
