Kate Middleton, Princess of Wales, has reignited public concern about her health following recent royal appearances that have prompted speculation about her recovery from cancer. The 43-year-old royal, who revealed earlier this year that she was in remission after undergoing cancer treatment, has appeared visibly thinner in public, with observers noting a dramatic change in her appearance.
According to RadarOnline, Kate now appears “painfully thin,” with one source even comparing her frame to that of her young daughter, Princess Charlotte. “Kate is painfully thin, and people are worried it’s a sign that she is struggling with her recovery from cancer treatment – or worse, she’s had a relapse,” an insider told the outlet.
“She’s been through so much, and she wants to be there for the royal family and do her part, but clearly she’s not well,” the source added. Speculation intensified after reports that Kate has allegedly lost nearly 90 pounds. “Word is she’s having a difficult time and has no appetite, and is losing weight as a result.
She’s gaunt and has little to no muscle tone. Kate Middleton always had an athletic figure, but she’s far from it now,” the source continued. The insider noted that the Princess’s frailty may be a consequence of her physically and emotionally demanding battle with cancer.

“She’s been through an arduous journey. Chemotherapy is no walk in the park. It’s left its mark on her,” they said. Medical experts are also weighing in. Dr. Gabe Mirkin, speaking with RadarOnline, explained that Kate’s current weight could be attributed to the aftermath of her cancer treatment. “Kate is severely underweight at around 90 pounds, 19 months after abdominal surgery, cancer, and chemotherapy,” Dr. Mirkin noted.
“This severe weight loss can be caused by the chemotherapy itself, not eating enough because she doesn’t feel very well, or treatment failure for her cancer,” he added. “The severe loss of fat, muscle, and bone can interfere with her own immunity’s ability to cure the cancer.”
Kate Middleton, who shares three children with Prince William, underwent abdominal surgery followed by a course of chemotherapy in early 2024. Her diagnosis and treatment were kept private for several months before being disclosed to the public in March.

The Princess spent most of the year out of the public eye, focusing on her recovery and spending time with her family. However, her recent reemergence has fueled widespread concern and speculation about her health, as well as hopes for her continued strength and healing.
