King Charles is reportedly reluctant to prepare his “beloved” daughter-in-law, Kate Middleton, for her future role as Queen Consort. According to royal expert Christopher Anderson, there is a “heartbreaking” reason behind the monarch’s decision.
As reported by The Sun, Anderson suggested that Charles’ hesitation stems from his long-awaited moment on the throne. After waiting 70 years for his ascension, the King is determined to focus on his reign rather than paving the way for his son, Prince William, to take over.
Anderson explained, “The King is not about to be giving Kate advice about being a future queen. That would simply give oxygen to the notion that he might not be around much longer, and Charles III intends to stay put on the throne for years to come.”
Despite this reluctance, Anderson emphasized that Charles shares a close bond with the Princess of Wales. Their relationship has reportedly strengthened over the years, particularly as they supported one another during their respective health challenges. Kate is said to have been a significant source of support for the King, including assisting with his health issues.
However, Charles’ determination to make his mark on the throne has taken precedence. Anderson suggested that while the King deeply respects Kate, he is not ready to consider the transition of power to Prince William and Kate at this stage in his reign.
