Zachary Levi Defends Pro-Trump Stance, Says Career Risks Were Worth It

HOLLYWOOD, CA — Actor Zachary Levi has opened up about his decision to risk his Hollywood career by openly supporting Donald Trump, a choice he said brought him a sense of “peace.” Levi, known for his lead role in the superhero film Shazam! and as the voice of Flynn Rider in Disney’s Tangled, shared his thoughts Thursday on The Megyn Kelly Show, as reported by Variety.

“I felt peace because I knew that this was more important than saving my career,” Levi told the former Fox News host. “What am I really afraid of at the end of the day? That I’m somehow going to lose jobs in an industry that I already believe is completely falling apart and that won’t even be creating jobs for me in a few years anyway?”

He elaborated on his decision, stating, “Like come on. If I lose all of my acting career, and I hope I don’t, and so far I haven’t… But none of that matters. If the world goes off a cliff, what does it matter?” Levi appeared on Kelly’s show to promote his new movie, The Unbreakable Boy. Initially, he had endorsed Robert F. Kennedy but later shifted his support to Trump when the former president secured the Republican Party’s 2024 nomination.

Levi praised Trump’s administration, saying, “At least the president is doing what he said he was going to do.” He added, “And more than that, these are some of the things I was kind of even secretly hoping he was going to do because, damn it, we do deserve to know what’s going on.”

Levi’s public endorsement of Trump became widely known after he appeared at a Michigan rally in late September. In an Instagram video, he called on other Trump supporters to speak out. “My cry to all of you out there, you closeted Trump voters, it’s now or never,” Levi said.

“Do whatever you feel like you need to do. If you need to come out publicly and say it, if you feel like you still can’t, then don’t. I would never pressure you to do that.” With his statements stirring controversy, Levi remains resolute in his stance, expressing no regrets over potentially sacrificing his Hollywood career for his political beliefs.
