A seemingly routine photo of President Donald Trump showcasing a futuristic supersonic jet model at the White House has sparked unexpected buzz online—thanks to an eerie reflection of Elon Musk lurking in the background.
The image, posted by Boom Technology CEO Blake Scholl, was intended to highlight Trump’s excitement over the company’s latest innovation—the Overture, a sleek aircraft poised to revolutionize transatlantic travel. Dubbed the “Son of Concorde”, the jet promises to slash flight times between London and New York to just 3.5 hours, down from the usual 8.

At first glance, the photo appeared harmless: Trump, grinning widely while holding a model of the high-speed aircraft. But eagle-eyed netizens quickly zoomed in and made a surprising discovery—Musk’s reflection, eerily positioned behind Trump’s ear.
Social media users wasted no time turning the image into an instant meme. “Peekaboo,” one person commented alongside a close-up of Musk’s ghostly reflection. “You can see the president behind him,” another quipped, while someone else joked, “Devil in my ear type of s**t. Pulitzer-level photo.”
While Musk’s accidental “jump scare” stole attention, the real focus of the event was Boom Technology’s ambitious plans for supersonic travel. The Overture jet, developed by Colorado-based Boom Technology, is designed to break the sound barrier much like the legendary Concorde but with improved efficiency and modern advancements.

With a top speed of 844 mph, the aircraft will revolutionize air travel, making long-haul flights significantly faster. Boom has already tested a scaled-down version of the jet, the XB-1, also known as “Baby Boom.” In a historic moment in January, Baby Boom became the first independently developed supersonic jet to break the 767 mph sound barrier—twice—in a single test flight from California’s Mojave Air and Space Port.

Scholl, thrilled by the progress, compared the achievement to aviation history. “Today, XB-1 took flight in the same hallowed airspace where the Bell X-1 first broke the sound barrier in 1947,” he stated, calling it “the most significant milestone yet on our path to bring supersonic travel to passengers worldwide.”
With test flights proving the technology’s viability, Boom Technology is moving full speed ahead with the full-scale Overture, expected to be 199 feet long and capable of traveling at twice the speed of sound. Musk’s unintentional cameo may have stolen the show online, but Boom’s vision for a supersonic future remains firmly in focus, according to The US Sun.
