In a stunning new revelation, Lev Parnas—Donald Trump’s confidant and self-proclaimed “trusted operative”—has accused mainstream media outlets of missing the real story behind Trump’s recent military action against Iran.
Writing in an article titled While the Media Chases Trump’s Distractions, Here’s the Story They’re Not Telling You, Parnas claims the public is being misled by pundits focused on surface-level politics, while the deeper motivation for the strike remains hidden from view.
Parnas, who gained notoriety for his involvement in the Trump-Ukraine scandal, argues that the media is too focused on whether Trump violated the Constitution by bypassing Congress or whether the situation will escalate into a broader conflict with Iran. According to him, this is all part of a strategic diversion.
“While CNN and MSNBC talk in circles about whether Trump has triggered a constitutional crisis by bypassing Congress—or fixate on whether this attack on Iran will spiral into retaliation—they’re playing right into his plan,” Parnas wrote. “They’re not asking the real question: Why now?”
Parnas insists the strike was not a spontaneous military decision but a long-planned maneuver centered on “oil, power, and control.” He alleges that the so-called “surgical obliteration” of Iran’s nuclear facilities was orchestrated in coordination with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
“Trump wanted to hit Iran. The only thing holding him back? Putin’s green light. That greenlight’s now been given—and look what’s already unfolding,” Parnas stated.
The former operative claims to have been in constant contact with global sources over the past 48 hours, collecting real-time intelligence that contradicts much of what is being reported.
“I’ve been on the phone nonstop, speaking to sources across the globe, gathering real-time intelligence—not recycled headlines, not speculation—real insight into what’s actually happening behind the scenes,” he wrote. “What the media isn’t reporting is even worse.”
Parnas, who once served as an intermediary for Trump in Ukraine, claims he knows the former president’s tactics intimately.
“Most of the pundits you see on TV have never even been in the same room as Donald Trump. They don’t know him. They don’t know how he talks, how he schemes, how he deals. But I do,” he said. “I was there. I was his trusted operative.”
He warns the public to look beyond headlines and pay attention to what’s being deliberately obscured. “That’s why I’m telling you now: What are you seeing on the news? That’s the distraction. What I telling you here? That’s the real threat,” he concluded.
