Legal Expert Warns Supreme Court May Finally Step In to Reign in Trump’s ‘Amok’ Presidency

A legal expert suggested on Sunday that the U.S. Supreme Court may soon take steps to curb President Donald Trump’s actions, despite previous instances where the Court refrained from issuing negative orders against him.

Norm Eisen, a former special counsel in the White House and special assistant to the president for ethics and government reform, has long been an outspoken critic of Trump. On Sunday, Eisen appeared on MSNBC, discussing his belief that the Supreme Court is increasingly concerned about Trump’s disregard for constitutional norms.

“The Supreme Court is clearly concerned also, if you look at the trajectory of their cases rejecting Donald Trump again and again on issues like immigration,” Eisen stated. “He said he would be a dictator on day one. The essence of dictatorship is this kind of defying the constitution and laws, so it’s not only on the 14th amendment, but across the board.”

Eisen’s remarks come as Trump faces continued legal challenges, with several court cases focusing on his actions during his time in office. The legal expert pointed to these ongoing issues, noting that Trump has continually defied established norms and legal standards. He emphasized that the Court has already shown signs of frustration with Trump’s actions, which he believes could lead to future rulings aimed at limiting the president’s influence.

Eisen also reflected on a recent legal victory he had against Trump, which he described as a significant win. “We were in court with a big coalition on Friday. He’s reorganizing the entire federal government unconstitutionally, and the federal court agreed. We won on Friday. We got a [Temporary Restraining Order],” Eisen revealed.

The case, which involved Trump’s alleged unconstitutional reorganization of the federal government, was a pivotal moment in Eisen’s ongoing legal efforts. He suggested that this victory could be a signal of the broader pushback against Trump’s administration and its disregard for legal constraints.

“Trump is running amok,” Eisen said. “The Supreme Court is not just robots calculating the meaning of the words in the Constitution. They’re human beings. They’re political actors. They see this run amok administration, this unlawful administration.”

Concluding his analysis, Eisen expressed confidence that the Supreme Court would take action against Trump soon. “So that coloration also tends to lead me to believe they’re going to confine him,” he said. As legal battles continue to unfold, many are watching closely to see whether the Supreme Court will ultimately take steps to rein in Trump’s influence, especially as concerns about his disregard for constitutional norms grow.
