Former President Donald Trump, who is currently leading the race for the Republican Party’s 2024 presidential nomination, has been notified of his indictment by the District of Columbia grand jury on four charges related to the investigation into the 2020 election interference.
Trump has been instructed to appear in court this Thursday.
This situation is groundbreaking, as it is rare for a former U.S. president to be indicted. Yet, over the past few months, Trump has found himself indicted in three different states for three separate purported offenses.
In addition to the recent charges, Trump is already facing a federal criminal indictment in Florida and a separate criminal indictment in New York.
