Trump Criticizes Kamala Harris for Declining Fox News Debate: ‘Very Difficult to Defend Her Record-Setting Flip-Flopping’

Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump took to his Truth Social platform on Monday to express his frustration with Democratic nominee Kamala Harris for declining to debate him on Fox News. As President Joe Biden addressed the Democratic National Convention, Trump voiced his grievances online, taking aim at Harris’s decision.

“Comrade Kamala Harris has just informed us that she will NOT do the Fox News Debate on September 4th,” Trump wrote, using a pejorative term to criticize the vice president. “I am not surprised by this development because I feel that she knows it is very difficult, at best, for her to defend her record-setting Flip-Flopping on absolutely everything she once believed in.”

Trump specifically targeted Harris’s positions on fracking and immigration, areas where he believes she has shown inconsistency. He claimed that her policies have contributed to significant problems in the country. “[M]illions of criminals and people from mental institutions and terrorists, have been allowed to pour into our Country, totally unchecked and unvetted,” Trump alleged, continuing his critique of Harris’s stance on immigration, as per reports Raw Story.

In response to Harris declining the debate, Trump announced an alternative plan. “Rather than the debate on September 4th, I have agreed to do a Tele-Town Hall, anchored by Sean Hannity, for Fox,” Trump revealed. “It will take place in the Great Commonwealth of Pennsylvania – Details to follow!”

This move shifts the spotlight from a direct confrontation with Harris to a more controlled environment, where Trump will engage with voters via a Tele-Town Hall. The event, anchored by Fox News host Sean Hannity, is set to take place in Pennsylvania, a key battleground state in the upcoming election.

Trump’s decision to hold the Tele-Town Hall instead of participating in a debate reflects his strategy to connect directly with his base while criticizing his opponents for avoiding direct engagement. As the election season heats up, this development underscores the ongoing tension between the two major party nominees and highlights the differing approaches they are taking as they vie for the presidency.
