Trump Allies Worry Elon Musk’s Efforts to Boost Turnout Are “Failing in Critical Battleground States”

With just 19 days left until Election Day, some allies of Donald Trump are reportedly concerned that Elon Musk’s attempts to increase voter turnout for the former president are falling short in key battleground states. According to an exclusive Rolling Stone report on Wednesday, Trump’s supporters are increasingly worried that Musk’s efforts, despite significant investment, are not delivering the expected results.

Three sources close to the situation revealed that several Republicans have directly informed Trump about their concerns. Some are blaming the lead strategists behind the efforts, many of whom were involved in the failed 2024 primary campaign of Florida Governor Ron DeSantis. “We were upfront about our concerns,” one Republican operative told Rolling Stone, even sharing written communications to back up the claim that these concerns were communicated to Trump.

According to one of the sources, Trump’s allies have been in constant contact with conservative activists and top Republicans in key swing states. The feedback they’ve received has not been positive. “Few of them have had any positive comments lately about the Musk-supported America PAC’s impact in their respective states,” the source said.

Despite the Super PAC’s massive spending — $75 million since Joe Biden withdrew from the Democratic ticket in July — the presence of ground-level get-out-the-vote (GOTV) operations has been relatively small, leading to frustration among Republicans.

The Rolling Stone report also highlighted that some of the dissatisfaction within Trump’s circle stems from the fact that the America PAC’s field operation appears to be still under construction. GOP consultants and donors noted that the PAC continues to post job openings for canvassers on its website, suggesting that its infrastructure is not yet fully operational despite the fast-approaching election.

With the election drawing near, concerns are mounting over whether Musk’s support and the PAC’s massive financial backing will be enough to secure the critical voter turnout Trump needs to win in swing states. The lack of visible ground operations has left many within the Republican Party questioning the effectiveness of these efforts, even as the clock ticks down to Election Day.
